Having moved around many times throughout his life, Derrick understands better than most the intricacies and stressors of a move, whether down the street or cross country. For this reason, Derrick has honed the craft of real estate and streamlined the process to ensure his clients feel comfortable and confident during their time together.
Real estate requires due diligence, thorough research, and a well-planned strategy like the military. This military experience has taught Derrick to remain calm under pressure during tight deadlines or negotiations and unemotional when advocating for his client’s best interests.

The Process

Whether you’re looking to buy or sell your next home, we start the process off with an in-depth consultation.

Once we gain a good understanding of your unique goals, needs, and lifestyle, we then put a comprehensive plan in place that everyone feels comfortable with! We will then guide you through the process of buying or selling your home in and around Houston.

Here is what you can expect the process to look like as a buyer or a seller during our time together:


  1. Home Visit – Based on the criteria you set, we search for homes and schedule showings to get an idea of what fits your lifestyle best. 
  2. Make An Offer – Once we find the home that checks all the boxes, we will make an offer they cannot resist. 
  3. Execute Contract – While we may receive a counteroffer from the seller, that is where we step in on your behalf as experts in negotiations. We will also walk you through the contract process and advocate in your best interest.
  4. Schedule Home Inspection – We will schedule a home inspection on your behalf and wait for it to come back while also ensuring financing is in order.
  5. Get A Home Warranty – We will assist in making sure your home warranty is secured. 
  6. Close – Congratulations, it’s time to sign papers and get the keys to your new home! 


  1. Prepare the home – We will sweep your home and suggest any changes that need to be made. Then, we will hire a trusted and vetted photographer and stager to highlight the most appealing aspects of your home to gain top dollar at closing. 
  2. Manage Showings – We will market your property by using our proven marketing methods, professional photography, and vast network of local agents. In addition, we will make sure you’re getting regular feedback about how your property is showing. 
  3. Review Offers – Once offers start pouring in, we will discuss the best course of action. We will then negotiate for your best interests.
  4. Prepare For Inspection and Appraisal – Once negotiations are done, and an offer has been accepted, we will open escrow, request the title, and schedule an appraisal and inspection while also negotiating contingencies.  
  5. Close – Once that is all taken care of – It’s time to pack up and hand over the keys to the new homeowners.
